But if they entice us with lower prices, will they be able to break-even on the cost of providing the service? It must be very expensive to cover SA with internet provision. Perhaps that's why area-based wireless services are popping up in the places they're needed. But even those are expensive, which says something about the underlying costs.
I agree that if Telkom was more progressive and open-minded they'd find more modern solutions and perhaps cheaper to problems most of the world was solving sometime in the last century. I guess that's where we, the more privileged of the general public, come in - perhaps if we contribute to the general issue of telecommunications and internet in this country, we'd find our problems become priority sooner.
