I've read the iPhone Tips/Tricks thread and found how to register an US iPhone account.

However, the part I'm still uncertain about is that I have already created a SA account using my credit card.

This account obviously has all the phones details, like serial numbers etc.

Is it still safe for me to create an US account too, as it would obviously pick up the same serial numbers etc?

Would I use the SA iTunes account at all?

What will happen if the US account picks up the Apps I got from the SA account? Will it just sync normally?

You can have both the only challenge you have is when syncing the iPhone to your PC / Laptop.

If your laptop has your US profile on it, and you sync your Phone, all SA apps will be removed.

The way I get round this is, I have set up one laptop for US account and I have set iTunes to only sync Apps and Videos and this account, and on my home PC I have setup my SA iTunes account and only sync Music and Photo's.

Thanks HPFM.

Think I'll just register the US account and use that.

The tutorial in the Tips/Tricks thread says to choose the option for no payment, however, I suppose I could link it to my Paypal account? This would then eliminate the need for buying iTune vouchers from a 3rd party?

I used to buy iTunes giftcards from http://www.itunesgiftcardstore.com/ they email you the pin number and then you just redeem the voucher through the iTunes.

The giftcard store used to use Google Checkout which rocked but they have changed recently (plus the sites up and down regularly).

I dont think thats necessary. I have both a UK and US account on one machine and my iPhone happily syncs with music and apps purchased from either the US or UK store without deleting any content.

I have honestly never come across this and I have apps from US/UK/ZA. The most I ever have to do is authenticate with the other account.

Don't think you can use paypal without having a US registered Paypal address.

I have a ZA and US account.
You must open the US account with a different Email address to the ZA account. Also I do not use a credit card with the US account. I purchase vouchers from a site in the US and redeem the value on the Itunes US site.
Both accounts are run on my Laptop. All I do is sign out of the one account before signing in to the other account. Top right hand side od the Itunes Store page.
I never use my ZA account anymore as updates to the Applications must be from the same store. So I am permanently on the US site on both my laptop and IPhone.

This has probably come up in another thread but I'll ask it here again - is there any way in SA to get legal music downloads? The Nokia store only works with IE and I'm not giving my money to a company that is clearly stupid... Rant over, but I've tried Amazon and it only works in the US. So apart from the whole setting up a US account, is there any way to easily and legally download music in South Africa?
