Good thing he was president already. Else he could have come out and run for president, and win :ROFL:
Nope, if you are sentenced more then a year in prison you can't sit in Parliament or become president as per our constitution. Which is finally worth something now that he has finally gotten his orange turtle outfit.

Its actually an interesting thought experiment really...

He never finished his second term, so TECHNICALLY (barring the prison sentence stuff of course) he could possibly be president of the country again for 5 years, unless the fact that he was "appointed" officially for his 2nd term is all that matters and means he can't be appointed again.

Haha. He gets jailed for refusing to attend a trial and then says jailed without trial...
I was listening to that JG foundation twat speaking last night and kept preaching this rhetoric. For good measure mentioned apartheid a few times and likened this to it.
He has no conceivable idea what his employer was jailed for obviously.
pi$$es me off that they get airtime to spew this crap because the average man on the street believes it.
Spreading propaganda like that should be a criminal offence.

So like any parliamentary portfolio committee meeting then.

I wish Cyril would declare today a public holiday just to emphasize that he has defeated his enemies and anyone who opposes him will be oppressed with the full might of the state.

Not a single pic of him checking into the prison?
Normally when there is media at a prison, or any photos or video being taken, an inmate needs to sign a consent form, otherwise pictures and video are not allowed to be publicized. How that works with him though I do not know, since technically, he only became an inmate once his admission was done.

But the ANC were against him going to prison.

Oh I make no judgement calls on the stupidity of the choice with that post/thought experiment... just whether its legally possible or not.

Personally it would be a fscking tragedy if that even vaguely looked like it was going to happen.

Its obviously very murky on this front in my opinion.

The ANC as an organisation would say one thing (due to it being voting season as one example) but personally certain senior NEC members may feel very different.

It is very difficult not to highlight the contradiction that is the ideological ANC and the seldom seen rational ANC.
