Moral of the story : If any high court tells you to hand yourself over to cops, you either do that, or you escape to any country that has no extradiction agreements.

You don't try to do a standoff, it'll end up badly for you.

Former president Jacob Zuma is in isolation at Estcourt Correctional Centre in KwaZulu-Natal, correctional services spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo confirmed on Thursday morning.

“As per all new admissions due to Covid-19, he is in isolation.”

Do foreign travellers have to isolate themselves when they arrive here? Can't remember what the details are?

What happened to all those people who said Zuma would only be taken over their dead bodies? Funeral arrangements in process?
I also expect all those people gathering over the past few days to be arrested, otherwise, why should all of us abide by the rules? (obviously Im not saying go to gatherings, like I'm sure people can think for themselves regarding their health and safety)

Still no pics, so it's all a ploy until then.

Conveniently upgraded for his arrival :p

Estcourt Prison: It’s no Nkandla, but has all the mod-cons…

The residential facilities have actually been described as ‘state of the art’, and after a R387 million upgrade was completed back in 2019, this may be one of the better facilities that Zuma could have ended up in.

Thought the Concourt order said Westville or some other one. Estcourt hopefully just for in transit.

Estcourt apparently has a new facility that was built there. I wonder if they started using it again? Perhaps he will have a nice place to live in somewhere on the premises.

Sorry to have to rope you in on this but is there any database or method to confirm whether a prisoner has been committed to a correctional facility?

They do it, but it is for record keeping, and it saved in your prison file, the mugshots you see in the movies, are normally taken by the police when you get arrested for anything, and they keep that on their files, meaning each police station, will have their own set of mugshots. and it does not link to some central database of mugshots.
So... hypothetically... how difficult would it be to use the prison underground message network via JHB to send a message to the most violent offender in Estcourt offering a family member of their choice R10k if that violent offender (let say a lifer with no hope of parole) were to bliksem the kark out of somebody in lockup?

Speaking hypothetically of course.
