Isn't that a Sikh turban? Guptas were Hindu. Or am I wrong? @surface
well, looks like rajasthani pagdi to me, which is a kind of turban although they were not from Rajasthan either. But they were from UP so that region will have pagdi as well.

I think in his last visit to India, Trudeau wore most of the Indian attire and 'mesmerized' Indians about their own diversity. Zuma was much ahead of him I think.
Forcefate asked a genuine question. Come clean, we all know different cultures have different symbolism ito headgear. Examples, ...

I read his response as implying it's more a cultural piece of clothing more than it's religious.
Yip, those headgears are mostly more cultural really but religion has a habit of infesting everything so there is that. Sikhs do have turban as a religious piece of clothing though. I did wear a turban in one wedding - oh the horror as it was May and about 49 degrees.

Correct. Traditionally and generally speaking, each state (as I mentioned Rajasthan & Uttar Pradesh in earlier post), would have their distinct culture and all the paraphernalia that comes with it.

Okay, so was that the "dunce" turban, or the "naughty" turban, or the "admire" one? ;)

I actually surprised by this all. We all know Zuma had a stayed arrest warrant, warrants like these even when it is not executed does result in international travel complications when under legal review, however, this warrant has since been suspended.

Now I see Zuma was also in Zambia at some time during mid-January, though the exact dates aren’t known he didn’t attend his date with the Zondo Commission which was scheduled on January 18th. This at a time he shouldn’t even have been legally able to travel to Zambia - This is concerning. Though many might not see this as a big deal, Zuma isn’t legally reliable.

This isn’t something the ConCourt can ignore. Neither in the case he is sentenced in terms with serving time at home. Ultimately there is no way another stayed warrant can be reliably issued against Zuma, you either arrest him or you don't.

What is now certain, he is not getting old at home, and the issue is much bigger than him avoiding to give testimony.

According to Zuma he has been sitting at home all the time. He cannot meet with the ANC at Lethuli House, which I still believe is all a show regarding the NEC, but he sure can go to Zambia,

Probably went and fetch some of his loot...

Could be.

I am ever more curious as to how Zuma, and his legal counsel, will respond the ConCourt summons. IIRC they have until the 8th to respond, so Monday on the latest.

One have to wonder what he is planning to avoid sentencing. I doubt he will go into 'exile' again, but this thing with the EFF and other leaders... something is being orchestrated, and someone will be pushed to replace Ramaphosa. All pending on how much support their agenda has, and whatever it may entail. Who knows,

all I want to experience is 'appropriate' justice in my time in South Africa.

You paint a very scary picture! I wish there was an easy way to do a complete tax revolt - I would be more than happy to pay my portion of taxes into a dedicated trust that the government can't possibly have access to unless funds are earmarked for certain specific projects! I hate that these factional issues are tearing apart a country that is already on the brink of causing thousands to emigrate. The Zuma camp is extremely strong and one thing seems more evident than ever - the EFF is just an offshoot of the ANC under a different name!
