NPA HOPES ZUMA'S SECTION 106 APPLICATION NOT A DELAYING TACTIC IN GRAFT TRIAL

Former President Jacob Zuma's corruption trial was postponed to next Wednesday after his lawyers stated their intention to file a section 106 application. The application deals with a prosecutor's ability to prosecute a case.

...

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA)’s Sipho Ngwema said that they hoped that this wasn’t another delaying tactic.

“We are hoping they don’t want to deal or bring other issues through the back door, substantial issues with regard to what they’ve been raising, in terms of their conspiracy theories. We are hoping that we will be able to start the trial as soon as possible,” he said.

Zuma told his supporters that while he’s ready for the trial, he did not believe that it would be fair if the current prosecution team led by Advocate Billy Downer was not removed from the trial.

Yes, it is a delaying tactic. Zuma's 'conspiracy theories' will be capitalised on by Thales who will also be raising their concerns. There is a probable chance that they may succeed.

Will have to wait to see the full "special plea" but as expected it looks to be a load of bollocks.
JZ is just playing for time. And people want this mofo to just retire...

Has deciding whether Zuma should be jailed for contempt paralysed the ConCourt? It looks like it

In my own opinion, the ConCourt has long been paralysed on political and political-connected matters.

What other matters are they vacillating on?

This was a matter brought to them in urgency, a matter which is without doubt in the public interest. Total disgrace.

They have two weeks to make up their minds...
I wonder if they will ever make up their minds on him. Doubt it.

I don't know, but there is an hour-glass turned on the Zuma decision. The Zondo Commission disbands soon.
They admittedly don't know what to do with the powder keg that is Zuma and the CJ has fled to leave to avoid being party to any decisions. But the point is this looks like the only one.
