The ConCourt is making it sound like some game show,

(1/2) Judgment on Tuesday, 29 June at 10h00: Is former President Jacob Zuma guilty of contempt of court and, if so, what is the appropriate sanction? (Secretary of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Allegations of State Capture v JG Zuma and Others)

(2/2) Please note that court attendance at this hand down will be limited to 20 members of the public, including the media.

Hmmmm I am very very concerned about this ruling to be honest.

Its turning into a circus when it really shouldn't. Its pretty damned cut and dried. The only part that is vaguely in question (in my opinion) is the sanction, and even then it should merely be a case of what the length of incarceration should be..

As I speculated some time ago, the Arms Deal case will be taken under consideration, and I believe this is what may be used to lighten Zuma’s circumstances. The big question would be whether the ConCourt deems Zuma to be in contempt, because it will not only be Zuma who will be listening to this ruling… pending on the decision, there will be others pursuing this route.

The most damning decision would be to see the ConCourt rule that the Zondo report will be the best method in dealing with Zuma because then the apex court relinquish themselves to the state.

Tomorrow will be a good day to see where the Constitution is being positioned.

Why can't he be in jail for one offence, while appearing in court for another?

It all depends on the crime, the arguments brought to them by the Zondo Commission. Even in bail applications when the suspect has other court cases it is taken under consideration. It is all up to the ConCourt bench.

I don't think they've ever issued a sentence, so probably not. Won't even be surprised if the case is referred back to a lower court...

and then, again, back to a higher court. I doubt it will be the case, this ruling is established in the public interest, hence a Constitutional interest which is ultimately the apex court's responsibility.
