"Why would the court doubt a medical certificate from the military hospital? [That] is disappointing. I will have to talk to the doctors with Zuma if he is in a condition to listen to this, then we will engage. I will get advice from his medical team."

Wait, what?

In a veiled swipe, Mantsha said even judges could make mistakes.

"We believe in the judiciary. We assume every judge presiding over any matter is sufficiently independent and acts fairly. Judges are human beings and they can make an error of fact in law.

"When you conclude an error of fact, there are procedures to follow if you feel you have to take the matter further."

Actually that is a direct swipe at Judge Dhaya Pillay. She should drag them over the coals, this legal practitioner is testing the code.

refrain from doing anything in a manner prohibited by law or by the code of conduct of the profession which places or could place them in a position in which a client's interests conflict with their own or those of other clients;

...

behave towards their colleagues, whether in private practice or otherwise, including any legal practitioner from a foreign jurisdiction, and towards members of the public, with integrity, fairness and respect and without unfair discrimination, and shall avoid any behaviour which is insulting or demeaning;

...

refrain from doing anything which could or might bring the legal profession into disrepute;

oh, I can go on...

This was merely another avenue being shut down for him...

His only option after the SCA is to petition the ConCourt, but if the SCA rejected it out of hand the chances of the ConCourt agreeing to even hear it are not great.

He will do it anyway, to delay things.

I really don't think he is going to be arrested. At least not anytime soon. It will be be awesome if that happens though.
Being compelled by arrestation isn't exactly the same as being arrested. Fetch, hold, attend court, that is the purpose here should he skip his court date again without a valid (and validated) reason.

Appeal denied with costs:
This is great news. Glad to see the court practicing and exercising their mandate within law and order. For too long have Lady Justice been made a mockery, but there are still many stains within the system.

Rumblings in the media say he may be heading to Russia, for medical purposes.

I suspect he will just park off there as long as it takes to buy time till the Zondo commission wraps up. It is on a tight timeline.
He wants his day in court, allegedly, but is now to sick to appear?

He knows he's guilty of everything he's being accused of.
