To give Zuma his due, he only followed centuries of pre-colonial culture whereby any chief in the sub continent demanded payment from hunters, traders & other visitors in his territory. Nothing has changed and most purchases by government officials are channeled through friends/family to ensure a kickback.

As an aside, I remember reading a few years ago, probably on MyBB, that Zuma's ancestors had colluded with the British to ensure Cetshwayo's defeat at Ulundi.
Bit of a strech to talk about defeating the Zulu
Chelmsford did that using the well tested British square -- and the GATLING gun

Two sides to the family and so just a bit of a family squabble ( MUCH like the Boers )
Got worse when Cetshwayo returned from exile --led to another one of those Zulu civil wars

After 10+ years of him threatening to spill beans, I would say its a safe bet that he has fsck all beans to actually spill that are in any way shape or form verifiable, or even true.
If that were true, then the question is why is he not been put on trail in past 10-years? Look how quickly his rape-allegation trial went, surely a trial against an innocent man with no beans-to-spill should be swift.

Because people fear thst he does have stuff to spill... And he had the resources of the government to delay and frustrate the legal system.....

I'm not convinced of that. This massive network of patronage run by the ANC that allows for the grand scale of theft and corruption is too big to fail. It cannot be normal that all kinds of serious cases, involving Joe Public, get time with the highest courts and gets settled in a matter of months, whereas almost all illegal activities by ANC-connected politicians, which includes Malema and associates, hardly gets legal face-time and drag on for a decade.

There're reasons Shaik's not in jail and operating with impunity, as he does. Why isn't his medical parole being reviewed?

Does Joe public have the money to appeal and oppose for years on end?

I'm hopeful. John Block was convicted (one of NC's powerful figures). Let's play the waiting game.
Thought that's what we've been doing for the past decade?

Zuma will be long dead by the time anything comes of this. And if he's still alive, our future president Mabuza will likely grant him a pardon on the basis of his age...

That's the final gambit. Zuma most definitely does have beans to spill on powerful people (Ace, NDZ, Mabuza), but he hasn't yet because he thinks they can still help him. If it actually comes to it that he has nothing left to lose, he may actually have some interesting stories to tell (more believably than his whole "they are spies" routine). His strategy now will be to wait off Cyril, try some more appeals, and do everything he can to back Mabuza/Magashule or whoever of his choice in 2022.

Don't even mention DD. His "legacy" in MP is there for everyone to see, yet it's almost settled he'd be our future president. Not the brightest of politicians

And we're not the brightest of electorates. We did elect Zuma twice.
