This is pretty good news...

Wonder what happened with Brendan Venter though, or were we just holding out for White to sign a contract?

Apparently he will stay on as a consultant, similar as with the Saracens.

I love non Sharks dumping all their idiocy on this article ....... because you just know it's jealousy and if JW had joined their union, they'd be crowing about it like the knobends they are.

In a short statement this morning, the Sharks have confirmed that Jake White will take over as their Director of Rugby, effective the end of this month.

White will effectively replace Brendan Venter in his hands-on coaching role; however, the Sharks have indicated a desire to keep Venter involved in whatever role may suit him going forward. Those details are clearly still to be ironed out.
We expect more information to be revealed at a media conference scheduled for noon today.

Welcome aboard, Mr White.

Set in stone, awesome :D

Does anyone know what White paid to quit the Brumbies? I can't imagine that they'd let him out of his contract early, and not include a non-compete clause, without some serious pay out.

If I recall we already had to pay Plum out, so what's settling Jakes tab too :p

That's not that much actually ...... I've seen truly scary figures before.

To buy a rugby coach's contract out?

In football it's 15 million euro for André Villas-Boas' transfer to Chelsea. I don't know the rugby stats, but Wikipedia has 1.1 million euro as the 18th highest for a coach.
