The boy died from loss of blood in hospital on Sunday

A Japanese father stabbed his 12-year-old son to death with a kitchen knife after the boy failed to study for a school entrance exam, officials said.

Kengo Satake, the boy’s 48-year-old father, told police that he “argued with his son for not studying” before a test to enter a private junior high school, according to public broadcaster NHK.

This is real.

There is so much economic competition in Japan and China and this translates to immense pressure on the youth, perhaps they could send us some of this "pressure" to SA, we are on the other side of the spectrum.

Kids take note!

Yoh, his old man should had committed to Seppuku than murdering his own son. As much as I love the Japanese society there was another mass killing the other day. Too many crazies amongst the masses, which is applicable to every nation, but with them hosting the next Olympics this may be very troublesome.

Eight women slashed in suspected knife attack at Tokyo amusement park pool

Eight women were slashed Sunday afternoon in a suspected knife attack at an amusement park pool in the western suburb of Akiruno, the Tokyo Fire Department said.

The victims, all around 20 years old, sustained only light injuries but were taken to a hospital for treatment. All were wounded in the buttocks, firefighters said.

...

The wave pool was packed at the time, according to the park operator.

this is unexpected, and cases like these are not rare in Japan. I'm not saying that Japan is dangerous, stay away and all, it is about being vigilant - very similar to SA. Anyway, I'm getting back on topic.
