JAVA SUPPORT DEVELOPER

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Java development of a portal solution (client and/or server side).
Delivering code according to best-practices & aligned with implemented framework.
Developing technical specifications based on customer requirements.
Delivering solutions according to customer specifications.
Documentation of developed software.
Unit testing of own work to ensure quality deliverables.
Resolutions of defects within agreed timelines.
Deployment of artefacts within appointed time-slots (after hours).
Working under pressure within an integrated team.
The role may require after hours support, as and when required.
EXPERIENCE:
+5 years Java/J2EE development, with at least 2 years experience with MVC framework specifically in WebLogic, WebLogice Portal Content Management SPI, Good understanding of Portal standards & experience implementing WLP, WEbLogic Portal Caches, InterPortlet Communication, JSP & JSTL.
3 years experience with Application Patterns, Web & J2EE centric design patterns.
Experience integrating with Web Services, mainly in JAVA, proven expertise in AXIS 2.0.
Prior experience providing production support for a web internet intranet application including troubleshooting & fixing production defects.
Solid working knowledge of WebLogic 11 and/12c.
Version controlling using CVS or Clearcase or SVN.
Strong knowledge of how to monitor applications to ensure 24/7 uptime.
Proven ability to communicate with business & technical groups easily, ability to communicate with various levels of management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
Telecom Service industry experience.
Strong experience using CSS, HTML, DHTML, AJAX & JAVASCRIPT.
Knowledge of secure file transfer methods such as NDM or FTP.
