Also the divine element.... could God not simply have steered all storms around the ark where-ever it was.... it's HIS storms after all. He could also easily have arranged for the initial flooding in the ark area to gently pick it up at the beginning.... water aint that hard to manage if you have the control panel.
nay
you overestimate the abilities of your deity.

so now, this god of yours - he created the universe and everything in it - planets, water, creatures etc ?
but at the end of a feverishly busy week he got down to humans - a pair.
however, despite having created everything out of nothing, he somehow misjudged that week's project and ran out of material to create the woman - resultantly, having to borrow a rib from the man to complete the woman.

Your opinion of GOD is rather pathetic - do you really think that GOD values your little opinion of HIM.

Clearly he does. Otherwise he wouldn’t demand you praise him 24/7 or condemn you to hell for something as ridiculous as not believing in him.

Between you and me, I think he is a little bitty insecure.

The ark was on an ocean higher than mountain peaks for a year amongst storms, hurricanes etc - yet when it landed back on earth it was only 150 miles from where it started.... really ?
If only he had made a special spot on that boat for the dinosaurs.

Yeah.. He has a huge issue and is monumentally insecure... So very afraid his worshippers will call him on all his bollocks in the good book.

Yahweh , can see all things , and the future( according to the not so Holy Book ) , why did he just stop the sinners from the start .
He knew Eve would eat the apple , since He loves everyone so much he could have stopped all this sin right there

We could all be running naked in paradise . :)
HE could have, but HE did not.
HE gave us free will (the ability to choose).
Actions have consequences.

Well if that's the theory then why did God bother - he could have just smote all the animals and all the humans except for Noah's family and the pairs of animals and not needed a flood.

Because that would have left no proof that it had happened?

What bulge ?

On a global flood there would be no bulge, water seeks its own level.
Hmmm seems you joined the party late and are arguing against incomplete info.

In short my current most probably theory (which could be wrong) is a ice comet broke up in the atmosphere before physical impact causing a shotgun type impact and creating the great lake craters all over the planet. This broke the crust plates and started the process of creating the great mountain ranges and deep ocean trenches. It also broke open in the process the deep earth water reservoirs.

This sudden violent influx of new water on the surface and in the atmosphere caused the rain as well as initial flooding. Such a new large body of water would create a bulge at some point early on with the moon's gravity keeping it large but slowly leveling. One guy read too quick and though I meant the moon created the bulge. Just as the moon currently moves the oceans around behind it, this bulge would also follow slowly leveling as the gravity pull looses the fight and the atmospheric changes finish it's own process.

Without initial extreme violent entry of new water into the system none of this would be possible probably.
