k... gonna try reply to everything above in one post.
JAWUG started with 1 access point and 3 nodes in Kensignton, we encouraged people to list their nodes so we could organize connections to each other, unfortunately there has not been alot of activity in LOS with the original nodes, most people seem to live in Randburg/Sandton/Northcliff/Etc. Currently we are trying to organize some nice backbone links which cost quite a bit to setup so we gotta plead for donations. At the same time Daffy has pretty much plotted the entire east-rand on one sexy map, he's working hard. I moved 2 days ago from node #5 to #148 on nodedb which means If you live in the Randburg area I am going to hunt you down like a dog and get something going, also if you have any wireless equipment, get it up even if you are pointing at your street, also please update your nodes if you get your equipment active, even if your wireless network has no external antennae and your just using it your house (aids the wardriving process). Some of you also have seriously incorrect GPS locations, I suggest using Sentech's awesome little map (http://66.18.65.122/zonelocator/welcome.htm) to get your exact GPS locations. Also please include your street on nodedb if possible (dont have to put the house # if your worried about crazy people). If you look at nodedb alot of you are practically in someone else's backyard, click the contact link and ask them if they wanna try get a connection going and provide CORRECT information so that they can reply, someone contacted me but entered and incorrect email address (toss me another email if you see this

).
Rebel, Good place to get equipment is Rectron (www.rectron.co.za), Cyberdyne (www.cyberdyne.co.za), Uniterm Direct (www.dbg.co.za), Poynting (www.poynting.co.za) and Miro (www.miro.co.za). Yeh, but best bet is to pvt daffy for equipment, so you just dont go buying random junk.
GougedEye, Put your eq up and point it at the closest node on nodedb, helps when people are checking for nearby wireless activity.
Stoke, just put your node up
