No, you can't. Apple interface is fancy and attractive, very polished, but productivity is not a priority. When you get 10 screens populated, rearranging icons can make big mess on multiple screens. Android two-layer approach is much better.

If you know what you are looking for there's no need to use the Home Screen or any of the pages.

Just use Spotlight and type two or three letters.

Chaos theory for the win.

I have managed to move icons from one scren to the next , but it is basically impossible to arrange icons in any particular order. When you have placed a icon where you want it the other icons have rearranged themself.Chaos:)

Just tap the screen and drag down (very short movement) to search for any app from any home screen - much easier!
iOS is way off the boil compared to Android in the customisation department.
That means less fiddling and more productivity though.

Twenty icons per page, so if you're adding an icon to a full page, the icon bottom right is going to shift to the next page... One word... Folders. Hold one icon over another and you create a folder. Keep 'em simple and you get everything on the home page.

I am aware of Spotlight, but my memory fails short... And what happens when typing wrong first few characters? By example Chistmas Music is labeled Xmas.... See a point?

This is old-style command-line utility, it was supposed to be replaced by modern graphics interface. :)

To clarify my problem with my iPhone connecting to the internet I just have to mention that it happened three times on on day.The next day I visited the iStore and were told by two employees that were also on Telkom contracts that they had a similar problem that day so it seems that Telkom had a major network problem on my first day so naturally I thought that i had a dud phone.Had no problems since.:D

This problem seems to run in the family.Last year my mom installed Whatsapp and the next day all of Vodacoms prepaid service went down for most of the day.My mom thought that Whatsapp had broken her phone.:)

I have to give Apple a compliment. My contract comes with 10 GB of data until the end of March. There is no way I am going to use that much data on a phone so I am using the phone as a modem for my PC. Downloading iTunes took only a few minutes and my PC immediately picked up the phone as a modem.:D

Well the idea is you organise the really frequently used stuff on your first and maybe second page.

Anything else you can search for. The logic is that you do know what you are looking for so spelling it somewhat right is a requirement.

I just say ok Google open whatever...

Well there is Siri for that but it's too cumbersome to use voice and it's much faster to just slide down and type.

But I use OSX in exactly the same fashion since Spotlight first came out like 10 years ago.

That's probably your flavour of Android - what phone was it?

It is a pretty shocking app so the fact that it lasted that long is a surprise.

Galaxy Pocket with Gingerbread. Before you attack this little phone I have to say that it gave me two years of good service. Yes it has its quirks and limitations but it is practically indestructable. After many drops it is still going strong❤️

No attacking the phone, but whatsapp is a hog, that's not an android issue. Can't compare the iPhone at its price with a galaxy pocket. Similarly priced android handset on the other hand...

^This. If you must, add the News24 feed to an app like Feedly... Still get the News24 goodies but you can add so many others.
