Was the DA asleep when they were in power for the previous term in Tshwane? Did they not see the outstanding bill grow to 17bn?

Weak coalition with the EFF, an illegal administration (service delivery took a nose dive during that time) forced upon them by the ANC run provincial government who should rather focus all their administration resources onto Emfuleni, I would only judge them on this term.

Lol so the DA is untouchable in terms of what they didn’t do. It’s always the ANC or the EFF’s fault, right?
Love it.

There's honestly nothing that was preventing them from carrying a similar operation, they themselves admitted that they were soft on defaulters, you can't honestly be telling me the EFF or the six months ANC administration prevented them from carrying such operations.
Especially since they were able to do other things just fine during the same term, bulldozing in unqualified cadres to top positions wasn't a problem, unless they were in agreement with the EFF on that hence there was no friction.

a Better question would be : When will the ANC municipalities start doing this?

I guess they like their bribes too much.
You are desperately trying to make this look like it's the first of it's kind in the country, because it is being done by the DA, it is not, municipalities have been cutting power to non paying consumers for years, including municipalities run by the ANC.

Didn't the ANC provincial government illegally put the CoT under administration because they were so butt hurt over the fact that they weren't running the city?

Pay up or else — Johannesburg warning after Pretoria power cuts

The DA-led City of Johannesburg could soon begin cutting off electricity and water to customers with outstanding bills for municipal services, The Sunday Times reports.

The newspaper has a spreadsheet detailing R556 million in debt owed by the ANC-led national and provincial governments.
Now that the money is finish and klaar 'they' finally got to a point where they have to do something to get some payment. Of course your average citizen would read this as 'they' doing the right/good thing however...

Yes they did under the National disaster period during Level 5 lockdown 2020.

How about they stop estimating the power usage and actually get an accurate reading from time to time.

Their "owed bill" would be far less.

But that requires hiring people to do a job, and then actually have a decent handle on what you are owed... Its so much better to claim you're owed R11tybajillion rand because you've just estimated for the last 17 years.

Was driving around and saw a house in Craighall park getting disconnected, metro police, city power and water were there.

Everyone looked rather miff in the exchange.
