Many do not understand the dangers of making use of gas. People die today in holiday resorts due to gas leakages. People die of gas explosions. Under these circumstances, electricity is still the better solution.

Factor in there are always reports of fires in informal settlements being caused by gas stoves, it's an illogical suggestion based on everything you said.

It's usually occurs with people operating gas in unventilated areas, if the gas doesn't ignite they keep on opening it even more, until the right conditions are met, it does happen.
