I decided to watch the video after all.

WTF are you people going on about? Are you aware of what ColoursFest is all about?! It is more about creating an equal society where those with dosh pay R190 for a ticket and subsidise those without cash so that they can pay R40 for theirs. It's about bringing different cultures and classes together to party as one!

I've got halfway through the video and all I see are people who naively didn't quite understand the philosophical references to the party but inevitably had a decent time, partied with people they'd have never partied with before, and enjoyed themselves in a unique setting. Colours Festival was never marketed to people as a religious festival. Why are the creators of the video having a dig because the young lady googled the references to the more philosophical aspects? She took the initiative to learn about what it was she was partaking in yet she's given grief for that?! What the hell is wrong with you lot?

And then they went on to interview a whole heap of drunkeds who in their state could have come from any province, except KZN. Where once again the party was filled with predominantly white people and 12 year olds. Literally twelve year olds. I know because I witnessed the event at Gateway last weekend.

I don't know what you lot are going on about. Colours Festival is a fantastic initiative and the Joburg lot were tame in their drunken nonsense than the bunch of 12 year olds in DBN. In fact a few of them got it spot on with their comments about what the event was all about. I honestly feel sorry for those of you sitting in your basements stating that this video makes you shameful. What a crock of schit...

These people went to have a jol. Plain an simple. Whether they knew the history, religous/cultural significance etc makes no difference.

Expecting otherwise is the equivalent to asking a guy attending a rugby match to know every single player on both teams, where each player went to school, who the last 10 coaches were etc etc.
