Sure, but there needs to be something to investigate (prima facie evidence). People making schit up doesn't count. The vast majority of the claims from Trumpets are plainly absurd with zero supporting prima facie evidence.

So not absolutely false then? Thanks!

Chase, facing possible censure in Senate, defends pro-Trump rallies in Washington

Sen. Amanda Chase, R-Chesterfield, defied Senate Democrats' calls for her possible censure on Thursday and defended protests that later turned into an assault on the U.S. Capitol by supporters of President Donald Trump's failed re-election campaign.

Chase, who is seeking the Republican nomination for governor, said "these were not rioters and looters" at the two pro-Trump rallies she attended Jan. 6 outside the Capitol and on the National Mall. Chase had returned to her hotel before the rallies led to a violent insurrection that left five dead, including a Capitol Police officer, and caused members of Congress to flee to shelter for their safety.

"These were patriots who love their country and do not want to see our great republic turn into a socialist country," she said, using a "point of personal privilege" as a member of the Senate that drew a forceful rebuke from the Republican leader in the chamber.

She also leveled a pointed attack against "career politicians" whom she said had "betrayed us and turned our once prosperous commonwealth into a cesspool of poverty, racism, corruption and heavy-handed government control."

"The people of America had no one to fight for them until Trump," Chase said. "The people of Virginia had no one to fight for us until me – and like the president I tell the truth and I don’t surrender."
Senate Majority Leader Dick Saslaw, D-Fairfax, scorned Chase's description of Trump supporters she saw Jan. 6 as "every day, ordinary citizens dressed in patriotic gear, many draping the American flag around their shoulders."

Exclusive: Large bitcoin payments to right-wing activists a month before Capitol riot linked to foreign account

WASHINGTON — On Dec. 8, someone made a simultaneous transfer of 28.15 bitcoins — worth more than $500,000 at the time — to 22 different virtual wallets, most of them belonging to prominent right-wing organizations and personalities.

Now cryptocurrency researchers believe they have identified who made the transfer, and suspect it was intended to bolster those far-right causes. U.S. law enforcement is investigating whether the donations were linked to the Jan. 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol.

While the motivation is difficult to prove, the transfer came just a month before the violent riot in the Capitol, which took place after President Trump invited supporters to “walk down Pennsylvania Avenue” and “take back our country.”

Right-wing figures and websites, including VDARE, the Daily Stormer and Nick Fuentes, received generous donations from a bitcoin account linked to a French cryptocurrency exchange, according to research done by software company Chainalysis, which maintains a repository of information about public cryptocurrency exchanges and whose tools aid in government, law enforcement and private sector investigations. Chainalysis investigated the donations after Yahoo News shared the data points about the transaction.

Sorry, already on Team Maya.
I like her, and she says roughly the right things on transport, although nothing on her website? Bit bizarre. And she's been very quiet and mushy on improving housing supply. I like the eviction protection stuff, but her mentioning "community planning" is a big red flag. It's NIMBY bait, used to stifle proper upzoning and supply increase that's vital.

Stringer and Adams seems best on that so far.

$1400? What happened to $2000? Or is this an addition to the $600 from the previous bill?
That thing you just said. $1400 + $600 = $2000.
There seems to be some weird confusion about this. Some people thought it meant $2600. Although I never thought it did.

Sanders doesn't, either, FWIW.

Mr. Sanders said in the interview that he wanted an initial, emergency stimulus package to be “big.” He thinks it must include an additional $1,400 in direct payments for adults and children, on top of the $600 that Congress just passed

I always understood it to mean, "$600 isn't enough, it should be $2000". Which is what it seems to be.

With you on this.

The current bill was Repubs pushing for a $600 payment and Dems pushing for $2000.

$600 *vs* $2000

Repubs won.

Flip the senate and Dems win out on $2000 in the end.

Send out the $1400 cheques.

Also, UI up to $400 from $300 is good, $15 minimum wage is good and the eviction moratorium is good.

"Jess, this is what we trained for. Ok? Bison horns? Check. MAGA hat. Check. Clown paint? Check. Who has the 75 swords? Darrel? Where the **** is Darrel? Darrel?"

<10 minutes>

"I was in the john, Terry. It's the burritos. You know I have a sensitive digestive system. We've spoken about this."

"Jesus, Darrel. Just get in line. Where the **** are the swords? Let's go again: bison horns? Check -"

"Terry?"

"Jesus ****ing Christ. What, Bob?"

"Terry, the floor plans say we're on the first floor. Q said all the children are in a basement, though. Underneath, kinda."

"What's your point, Bob?"
