I really don't get the argument against minimum living wage. If billions of dollars of tax breaks can be given to filthy rich with hardly any trickle down effect, then why not minimum living wage?

It is almost like certain people here don't like the idea of 'specific' people surviving in life. Honestly, what complete piece of human garbage these people are. And always trump supporters in this garbage. I wonder why.

The "everything I don't agree with = a march towards communism" schtick is getting old...
except it isn't getting old as long as people try to implement it, clearly lessons have not been learned

and again: minimum wage, or paying people according to their need is literally a Marxist concept

So am assuming you can point to all those countries that have implemented a minimum wage and then have slid headlong into communism?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_minimum_wage

Quite a few Western European countries on that list, guess it's just a very slow slide...?

Am curious, what are your feelings towards social programs to assist the poor and unemployed? Do you support government assistance for people that cannot make ends meet even if they work full time?

Absolutely NOT!

I would wager that the root cause of their misery happens to be government intervention as well. You shouldn't be taxing your citizens more to fix your mistakes.

What kind of mistakes are you referring to?

Can't identify them without a real world example.

Generically:

- if your tax structure or a myriad of other factors are such that corporations choose to relocate factories overseas for example, then that was the mistake, you don't fix it by raising minimum wage for the few factory workers that still have a job now that there's millions of them that can't find a job

- if you inflate your currency so much that low income workers can't afford food anymore, then the inflation was the mistake, you don't fix that by giving people free money

Aus $13.5
Lux $13.45

...
...
SA $1.30

Yeah, so... as soon as that $15 is a fact, I'm taking my burgers to USA! I think they need my services the most.

Well lets talk about the States then, we have posted why even a $15 minimum wage is barely scraping by but you think that even the current 7$ per hour is too high...

If people cannot make ends meet with food, rent and education costs while working a full time job, what do you propose that they do about it? Work two jobs just to get by and never have a chance to improve their lot in life? All the while the richest people in the country get richer by exploiting poor people who have no choice but to work for terrible wages?

Why is the cost of living so high in USA compare to SA?

the states has inflated the living shyte out of the dollar

the solution is to stop and then reverse all of it, magically people will be able to live on lower incomes

and yes ANY amount of minimum wage is too high

You know they already have a minimum wage right? Last I check there was a marked absence of a hammer and sickle on the star-spangled banner...
If you press Narrow and co. enough and interrogate them on the application of their beliefs, the outcome will inevitably be that they conclude that every country in the world is currently, and has always been, a communist state.

Graphs haven't been created yet to chart the absurdity.

There's 20 people down the line all expecting to be paid minimum wage.

You increase minimum wage for one you increase it for all.

The one person that you tried to help won't receive any benefits because now input cost for everything he wants to buy has gone up and he might even lose his job now.

Price fixing doesn't work.
The true minimum wage is 0.

The real minimum wage is zero.

Who do you think is going to benefit with a higher minimum wage?
It is the tech companies that make it worth the money to not not have workers.

And onto a more political point:

Why don't the states just implement minimum wage by themselves? They don't need federal government to do it.

If you are going to have a stupid policy like minimum wage, doing it by geography is the least worst way.

Federal minimum wage assumes that the cost of living in New York city is exactly the same as it is in the middle of Ohio.

Well every country in the world currently have some strong communist leanings.
