ORRRRRR I think repealing section 230 is in the best interests of the American people, even if it kills off social media as a viable business enterprise. Same goes for an investigation into voter fraud.

So let me get this right you are happy for the Republicans to sacrifice the American people but if the Dems had to do it would be bad?

You still look very silly with your comparison.

No, you don't have it right, but nevertheless I have better things to do than to contend with your nonsense assertions as if it's to be taken seriously.

Why does section 230 have to have something to do something with Covid-19?

The $600 Americans already got wasn't passed as a solitary measure, was it?
It was part of a requisite stimulus bill. They're playing politics by trying to leverage the frivolous voter fraud cases (all but one failed in court).

Could also kill off myBB forums. or are you comfortable with the idea that mybroadband could by sued for the **** you and the rest of us spout on this platform daily? Would definitely lead to far stricter moderation efforts and bannings. Just the sort of control and censorship you'd like to see, apparently

Why would American laws apply to MyBB?

Genuinely think the level of garbage posting ramps up after our pals get time-outs... Mainly to elicit responses that can be reported ‘cos grievance and revenge are their only, true political and life tenets.

Really? You think that matters. If someone in the US is the complainant, borders won't stop them suing under US law. Besides, it sets a precedent. How long before other countries follow suit?

This is the credible part, as I initially indicated.

This is the non-credible speculation which you have no real evidence for, just suspicion. The evidence against Joe/Hunter Biden is much much stronger than anything regarding Russian hackers and the DNC.
Tell me captain, what makes the former more believable to you than the latter?

Who got a time-out? And indeed, the garbage posting does rise, but it comes from your side of the internet fence.

Like seriously, why would US laws apply to South Africans? Is MyBB hosted on US servers or something?

Someone can't sue under US laws for something said not within US jurisdiction.

You do know S230 is part of American legislation, not a South African one, right?

Because there's no actual dispute over the fact that the ads were purchased by this group, and seeing as they do appear to be Russian based, it is at least somewhat plausible that they could be a front for Russian intelligence services much like the US routinely embeds CIA operatives into its multinational corporations and stations those operatives in foreign countries.

And I have little doubt that the US employs similar propaganda methods against Russia during the Russian elections, as it seems this sort of behaviour is par for the course.

It should be noted, however, that the people Mueller accused of this ad-buying plot actually showed up in court to defend themselves and it turned out Mueller was hilariously unprepared for this eventuality.

If you say so buddy but you should hold everyone to the same standard.

You just come across very silly.

Look, you can continue to ignore what I said and replace it with the convenient version of what you think I said all day long, but that doesn't mean I'm taking the bait. Find someone else to play the "do you still beat your wife?" game.
