Johannesburg's billing problems no crisis: Mayor Amos Masondo

He attributed the problems to the implementation of a new IT project, Phakama, designed to improve the city's billing system
Methinks the word "Phakama" should be spelled with as F**kupama

People are too complacent.
There's only one way to get things done in Africa - threats, intimidation and harassment.
We should find out where the mayor and his cronies live and fire bomb their houses with petrol bombs.
Then threaten to kill their kids at school.

Sure they'll replace their goods with our rates and taxes but if you can get them to live in fear you have the upper hand. That's the only way to get these idiots to take you seriously. The African way.

Johannesburg's billing problems no crisis: Mayor

Johannesburg's billing problems, which have resulted in residents receiving inflated bills and others having services cut off, are not a sign of a crisis, mayor Amos Masondo said on Wednesday.

No! Say it ain’t so. Our wonderful pro-active metro’s making a stuff-up of these proportions? This is obviously racist sniping at an esteemed struggle hero.

That bits OK.

Then threaten to kill their kids at school.

I don’t like this bit. The kids have done nothing except have incompetent parents.

I like the rhetoric from Ezekiel of that black hit-man dude (Jules) in the Tarentino movie ‘Pulp Fiction’ before he starts blasting (if an excuse is needed to formalise your actions).

Jules
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Those children will be without a father but daddy was a bling-crazed arsehole anyway.

This is because, they hire 100 reliable & genuinely intelligent developers from India @ $1 an hour to build a system for cheap, but don't realize that specialists (from ZA) are needed who understand the industry. An everyday developer who knows nothing about billing cannot build a reliable billing system. it's bound to end up being a patchy system.

On a side note, MTN & VDC use the same billing system, it's not who you are, it's how you run it.

& we all know how nicely the MTN billing system is running :)

Agreed. I meant threaten the parents that you'll kill their kids but only threaten. Nobody deserves to die for their incompetence.
You can't vote the municipal leaders out since the majority are brain washed to vote ANC and we don't have a mayoral election process like overseas.
Complaining does nothing in Africa - only protesting and throwing your toys out of the cot seems to get any response. Flipping frustrating!

Africa is proof positive of the saying "if violence isn't working, you're not using enough".

I wonder if there is any link between these utterances and the fact that the head of the communications department within the city is a previous director of the company that implemented the SAP system for revenue?

cool, so the fact that I havent received water and rates bill for 4 months and just received electricity bill 400% higher than normal is ok, no crises ?

Wife has gone to try and sort out electricity billing issues, good luck to her...
