according to the leftists stupid logic, higher taxes will decrease the consumption......

ok, then, why don't introduce poverty tax? then it will decrease the poverty too?

Excluding the leftists thing this might just be the first ever post I see from you that's logical.

As an aside, I should really put this example2171 on ignore, his posts are groan inducing.

Junk food tax proposed for South Africa

The Healthy Living Alliance (HEALA) has proposed the expansion of South Africa's health promotion levy to include ultra-processed foods.

I am sure the ANC will not say no to this. They just hear "higher taxes and more loot".

That being said the HEALA can go f**k themselves. Just like sugar, I will keep buying junk food and eat it while others can't or won't.

Good. All junk food should be taxed to death, ban sugar is a good start.
You should be required to have a sugar licence to make beer
Otherwise, sugar should be banned outright

I support a sugar tax, but I won't support this tax. Health products are already more expensive, and I am certain that the position will be retained. The proposed tax is also too loosely applied, it may very end up as a restaurant tax, health or not. Tax burdens have now become irrational.

Pretty much this... though I'm not fully in support of the sugar tax because it achieves nothing in this country largely, and is just another stealth tax to fund the corruption.

This country needs to be removing taxes, not adding new ones.
