I am still trying to resolve their erroneous charges from 2009.

They have reported me as a bad payer to transunion but never followed up, never escalated it, never done anything with it.
They dont charge interest on it, and since they have not instituted action, transunion say I need to sort it out with them.
They just list the amount outstanding month after month.

I have tried and tried to sort this out. In fact over the years I have spoken to more than one person who has promised to sort it out and close the account once and for all but it never happens.

Every time I do anything that requires a credit check they come back to haunt me.

Today I emailed the relevant person who was dealing with this AGAIN and the mail bounced back because the mailbox is full.
I called their call centre twice today and was cut off after half an hour on hold without ever speaking to an actual person.

Don't deal with them. Don't do it.
Do. Not. Do. It.

Is there no ombudsman that you can file a complaint with?
Do they belong to any associations?

There should be repercussions for invalid credit impairment.

Good luck..

/Edit: LOL @ Neotel advertising on this page :D

report it to credit ombud

I had a credit issue with vodacom which took 2 years to resolve, but eventually the ombud removed the erroneous entry

That really sucks, I stay away from Cell C for the same reason.
I have neotel fibre and its great, but I wont deal with them directly, I get it through Vox who are more efficient with queries and billing.

Debt prescribes 3 years after you have made the last payment.
2009 is 6 years later so, if you have not any payment since then, then you owe them nothing.

I had the same problem with them - they, or their attorneys - try to bully you to pay and the call center staff only know how to harrass you. No use telling them to sue you because you will not pay. They gave up eventually but still listed me at the Credit Bureau.

Well eventually, after literally hours on the phone with more than 7 people (not counting attempts from previous years) we have managed to get Neotel to credit the erroneous amount and close the account. They still somehow act like they are letting us off the hook instead of correcting their error.

Anyway. Goodbye and good riddance to bad rubbish.

It's a pitty you has such a bad experience. I have only had hassle free great service from them. I suppose it help to deal with an account manager though.

Seriously? "It helps to deal with the account manager"?

I have been stressing and hassling with this fsking account for 6 god damn years, spoken to manager after manager, gone up and down the ladder, contacted support in every way possible, been on hello peter countless times about this and you think that "dealing with an account manager" would have sorted my problem out?

Well, I have to say my experience with them couldn't be further from yours.

why don't you pay what they claim belongs to them. Get over it, I had the same with Telkom. You want win and to be fair, I have very good service from Neotel. Their way of accounting is poor but otherwise its much cheaper then anyone else.
