I finally switched to Telkom from Vodacom yesterday.
My wife and kids have been on Telkom accounts for 8 months now and we've had no issues.
So I picked up a Huawei P10 Lite for the dual SIM- Still have 10 gig of Vodacom data to use and a lot of people have that number.
The Samsung's looked really tempting though.
Took 15 minutes and the SIM was active as I walked out of the shop.
My Vodacom contract actually ended in March, and I had it downgraded to a Pay as you go.
Turns out it was not downgraded and my contract was still running. I have the paperwork from the Vodashop I signed in March...
Sorted that mess out, got a new SIM from them, had them unblock it in the shop.
The SIM took 4 hours to activate, and then I had to phone their call-centre again - to have the number unblocked - again.
Yep - looks like a blessing in disguise.
