Not that anyone cares round these parts, but I saw the 3rd gen Prius at a Toyota dealer today. In the flesh it's a much better looking car than in pictures. Seems to be all round better than the model it replaces actually.

If only I didn't have to go offroad occasionally...

Make that two people that care ;). I must say it looks much better than the Prius it is replacing. If it wasn't for the price and I were in the market for a new car, I'd definitely consider it. There's just something immensely cool about getting energy back when going downhill :)

Yeah energy regeneration is awesome. What I also like about this new Prius is that it's 22% more powerful AND 10% more fuel efficient.

They come standard with a heads up display too. Very high tech machine.

Make it another guy that cares. If it was more affordable I'd love one. In fact, it would be on my shortlist if I had to buy ANY car, regardless of price.

Another positive about the new model is that the old ones are bound to depreciate quite a bit. I'm watching them on Autotrader. If a good one comes along I might just grab it.

It's technology of the Prius is pretty cool, but I must be very shallow... the new one may be better looking than the old one, but a bulldog is better looking than a pug. It's all relative -anything would be better looking than the original Prius. I don't get it, Toyota spent so much money on the hybrid drive, and nothing on the design?

0.25 drag coefficient - one of the most aerodynamic cars on the road.

Interesting gadgets, I still think its just a lot of hype... everyone wants Hybrid cars even though theres other more economic and lower emission cars out there...

Chevy spark? In real world SA conditions of course.... i.e Highway driving as well as in city.

Polo 1.4 TDI? (No comments on Sulphur particulates!)

The old one used more fuel at low speeds going round Top Gear's test track than an M5. I don't get the hype.

The Prius was thrashed around the track as fast as it could go. The M3 was cruising around *relatively* slowly (i.e. at the Prius' pace) so it's engine was hardly having to work at all. Stupid comparison.
