Yes indeed. Ive been over at the Vodacom forum for the last 2 years making posts like mad, annoying Vodacom3G  Awesome support there, has to be said.

Anyways, ive been with Cell C for 2 years (2003 - 2005) Vodacom for 2 years (2005 - 2007) and now as of this month giving MTN my first try.

Got myself here a ProCall 120, SMS 100, MTN 100MB Bundle. (well im wanting to add the 100MB bundle) but its for VOIP so hence my upcoming questions.

I use Fring alot on my mobile to call family and friends overseas via Skype while im away from a computer, mostly weekends etc.

So my two questions are:

1) There arent any problems using Fring on the network is there? Else id better be carring my prepaid Vodacom along with me :/

2) Vodacom has Vlive where you can check your minutes, im with iTalk, is there any place I can check minutes etc online? Im still waiting for my MTN simcard to be connected, hopefully tommorow, so I cant signup on iTalks site to see what they offer.

3) MobileTV was also just something fun to mess around with, but I see MTN charges you a fee for it via MTN Loaded, but you pay for access over the network aswell when you watch. That kinda price for access will be unheard of expensive?

1. Currently there is no price difference between VOIP and normal Data. However MTN has the right to charge it independently.
2. MTN active will give you that information / However I think it's MTNSP only, not sure.
3. Would be a great way to burn your un-used data bundle as it doesn't carry over.

1 Question I have.

1. When you where on Vodacom and CellC was it through iTalk also ?

ITalk is an exclusive MTN only provider , MTN has a bit of shareholding in this company which is based in Ordnance Road in Durban.

Thanx

Just wanted to put this in perspective.

Glad to see that you've used a SP not directly linked with the network in all cases. The outcome of your test is then unbiased :)

MTN has the R500 limit rule in place for me for the first 3 months to make sure I dont rob them blind and not be able to pay for the calls watever else.

Now if my account is R315 + SIM and Connection will that suspend the contract? I just got an SMS from iTalk saying my account has reached the credit estimate and will be autobarred. However I have not done more than 2MB of data, and two calls to 258, first time didnt work, second time worked. Oh and I sent 3 Text messages.

okay, that problem has been sorted out... Called iTalk and they did indeed suspend me cause connection/sim + rental was over R500..

Limit has now been taken off.

they dont remove limits unless its a bill limit, your credit limit will stand, they probably just increased it.
