Kalahari coupon abuse may cost you

Dont know why you guys are still argueing. Kalahari didn't cancel all the orders.

If you stacked vouchers, on normal priced items, the order went through just fine. My items got delivered after all this, not problem.
If you stacked vouchers to buy vouchers, that got cancelled because well...its against their T&Cs, and that is blatant abuse when you started using multiple accounts.
If you stacked vouchers and used it on a pre-order which was discounted...well those got cancelled too. Again, against their T&Cs.

Comments like this always make me laugh. No one is ever using a service for the first time. They are always loyal, big spending clients :D

Anyway, I wish you all the best "with clearing your name".

At no point did I say I was loyal to them or by any means a big spender, I wouldn't have been using promotional vouchers if I was.

If a competitor had it cheaper I would go with the competitor. There was a time when their service excelled and their prices were unbeatable. Their quality of service has been on a steady decline over the years which is disappointing.

Then they accused me of "blatant abuse" which outright pissed me off.

Yip this is also what ive come to believe. Also anyone saying they just used the vouchers on a normal priced item and got screwed i feel isn't being truthful lol.

Naspers: Ye [woman] abusers!

They've got that tendency, don't they.

There's no point in trying to argue with the naysayers, because the fact of the matter is there were some people who did "blatantly abuse" Kalahari's flawed system. From what I've read, there was a user who opened 6 additional Kalahari accounts under fraudulent names in order to purchase multiple vouchers with promotional ones. These are the people Kalahari should be taking on.

The other fact is that some of us had no idea we were doing anything wrong. We thought we were being clever ;), but we had absolutely no reason to view the Terms and Conditions because hell, the system allowed it without question.

Then there's the fact that if Kalahari cancelled your order, they're accusing you of "blatant abuse". Meaning users who were simply ignorant (yes, we were), are treated in the same light as the people who fraudulently opened multiple Kalahari accounts knowing that what they were doing was not only wrong, but also illegal.

So for me this isn't so much about the money or the vouchers as it is to clear my name and make Kalahari rue the day they accused me of "blatantly abusing" their system.

My family have been using Kalahari for 13 years, and in that time we probably did read through the Terms and Conditions at some point, but we certainly wouldn't have memorized them word for word.

News flash: Most people only read Terms and Conditions properly AFTER they've figured out they've been screwed. MWEB new this and they exploited it by implementing throttling on customers "blatantly abusing" their system... Wait... What a coincidence! MWEB and Kalahari are part of the same group. :erm:

Remember how when the 2012 Olympics took place Multichoice made sure live streaming via Youtube was blocked in SA?

When things don't go NASPERS's way, They keep the "blatant abuse" card handy. This is a group that has screwed so many people on so many occasions, yet there are still people who defend there dictatorial ways.

I bought something for my son using one of these vouchers.
They have returned the item and told me it will be refunded because I abused the vouchers.

It's the first time I've ever used Kalahari, I used the vouchers before any of this stacking voucher business happened.
I honestly don't understand how I can be accused of abusing the vouchers.

Utterly pathetic on the part of kalahari to even allow this to happen.
So they choose to not take any money from me?
So their business model allows for them to loose R300?
I can gaurantee I will not use kalahari again if this is the case.

How they can possibly choose to loose revenue is beyond me.

The best thing to do is state your case on their Facebook page. I found their call centre was full of empty promises and no delivery and email support never responds. If you used a single voucher on a physical item then they shouldn't have cancelled the order. However, if you used more than one voucher and/or ordered an item and a gift voucher, you would only hve a case if they'd already delivered the item(s) to you.

I ordered one item with 2 stacked vouchers.
I didn't order any gift vouchers, just an xbox game for my son.

What if the voucher was not intended for you and Kalahari finds that it has been shared?

Note that Coupons cannot be –

used to purchase other Vouchers or Coupons;
used to purchase Marketplace Sellers’ products (even if the latter are included in a shopping basket containing Kalahari products);
exchanged for cash; or
transferred or assigned to any other person.

Although there seems to be an argument about vouchers versus coupons. However, we do then have this too which seems to close the door:

By Kalahari: Kalahari reserves the right, for purposes of preventing suspected fraud to refuse to accept or process payment on any order, and/or to cancel any sale concluded between you and Kalahari, in whole or in part, on notice to you. Kalahari shall only be liable to refund monies already paid by you (see Kalahari’s Refund Policy in this regard), and accepts no other liability which may arise as a result of such refusal to process any order/sale.

Sadly if you stacked 2 promo vouchers, and they cancelled the order before it was delivered there's nothing you can do.

Not true.... I pre ordered titanfall like 3 days before the voucher abuse. It worked with a R50 coupon and was happy. Then people started abusing the coupons and my legit pre order of titanfall got cancelled. I did get refunded only yesterday.

Now I read on other forums people got their Harddrives they only paid R100 for and their games they paid R40. Kalahari dropped the ball here and are staying quiet about it. Doing as they please without a damn care about the peoples money they took so easily. Still waiting for another R200 to be refunded cause I used 2 x vouchers on a order and it got cancelled.

Ok so lets starts fresh shall we and order the stuff again using just 1 coupon per order. Ohh wait kalahari.com disabled the coupons.... Sa basically I got emailed coupons which they disabled and cancelled my orders.... They are useless and I hope I never ever have to use them again.

I don't disagree with you. The problem is getting Kalahari to see it your way when they haven't even publicly admit that they were partially at fault here.
