Kalahari is gone and isn't coming back

So hard to put up a message to say they have merged.

Or at least a redirect.

Yup, the kalahari site should redirect with takealot showing the maintenance message.

Now takealot website is also down for maintenance. Crossing fingers to a successful merge(database, inventory, store credit etc). Let's hope that everything is smooth sailing without any hiccup.

Farewell Vouchers

lol.. Takealot is gone and isn't coming back

Yes, it takes ages to implement a redirect. Only a few people now how to do it in the internet world.

I know that it takes seconds to implement - but this is being done by kalahari, so it will take a week or two!

Such a shame. Firstly, Kalahari is a better name than Takealot. Secondly, no more cut throat competition and awesome vouchers.

:D

But I suppose it's quite a mission to integrate the two. Maybe they are trying something fancy.

The thing I hate about takealot (aside from the lack of vouchers) is the wording in all documentation on the site. I hate the 'quirkiness' of it.

I always did a price comparison between both of them... Always found Kalahari to be cheaper in the long run by applying a voucher... Now without there being any vouchers will think twice before shopping online ....

Kalahari always had awesome deals. Example Black Friday , 3 for the price of 2, bargain box, buy 1 get 1 free, and other promotions ..

Now with their bulk buying power will prices remain the same or go up in price.

I feel very negative about the merge(monopoly).

At the time the merger was announced, Takealot claimed that the motive was to reduce the competition to restore profitability.

Agreed on product description..Purchased something from their Daily Deal was just disappointed on the product description not matching(they delist the product from their website). Needed a duffel bag, only to discover the size was incorrect/smaller than mentioned, had to contact their supplier directly .

Takealot app is useless. Prefer Kalahari interface by far. Example under category Electronics will have current promotion, Trends with image shown.. Departments would always have a preference. Example platform, hard drives etc.

With the merger turnaround times are no longer the same. Order today get goodies next day. Now it takes 3 days if you lucky.
