So hard to put up a message to say they have merged.
Or at least a redirect.

They are busy doing that. It will probably take a week or two to get right.
Now takealot website is also down for maintenance. Crossing fingers to a successful merge(database, inventory, store credit etc). Let's hope that everything is smooth sailing without any hiccup.
Farewell Vouchers
Yes, it takes ages to implement a redirect. Only a few people now how to do it in the internet world.
I know that it takes seconds to implement - but this is being done by kalahari, so it will take a week or two!
Such a shame. Firstly, Kalahari is a better name than Takealot. Secondly, no more cut throat competition and awesome vouchers.
I always did a price comparison between both of them... Always found Kalahari to be cheaper in the long run by applying a voucher... Now without there being any vouchers will think twice before shopping online ....
Kalahari always had awesome deals. Example Black Friday , 3 for the price of 2, bargain box, buy 1 get 1 free, and other promotions ..
Now with their bulk buying power will prices remain the same or go up in price.
I feel very negative about the merge(monopoly).
The thing I hate about takealot (aside from the lack of vouchers) is the wording in all documentation on the site. I hate the 'quirkiness' of it.
At the time the merger was announced, Takealot claimed that the motive was to reduce the competition to restore profitability.
