White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was blasted Monday for saying that waiting a couple of days for results is how elections are "supposed to work."

"We may not know all the winners of elections for a few days. It takes time to count all legitimate ballots in a legal and orderly manner," Jean-Pierre told reporters at the White House press briefing. "That's how this is supposed to work."

Twitter exploded as commentators on the platform expressed their dismay that many states can no longer tally all the ballots they receive by the end of election day itself.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton warned, "Counting ballots after Election Day undermines voter confidence."

Lol :ROFL::ROFL: Americans really do not understand how the tri-alliance, "democracy, Socialism and Communism" works. They need time to count votes and see how many mail-in votes should magically appear.

But isn't counting and auditing part of the election process? I know it works differently in systems you prefer, such as absolute monarchies and dictatorships.

It has more to do with them not completing the count on election day as has usually been the norm. Some states even allow ballots that are late to be counted, which goes against their laws.
It's election day, not week or month.

This is made all the more egregious considering how many ballots are submitted early.
Compare this to SA which does predominately on election day voting yet we don't experience these probblems or if you prefer a more 1st world example just look at France.

Auditing post election when there are concerns raised is a separate issue.

Interesting side note. You know KJP is lying when she nods her head. Makes watching her press conferences much more understandable. ;)

I think they'll be ok. The 2020 Election went pretty well. 100 plus lawsuits proving that.

Mostly in sh*t lib states where counting takes so long (except Pennsylvania which is the big one). Texas and Florida - the 2nd and 3rd biggest states by population - will both be finishing their count tonight. That's what you get when you have a Republican administration !

She misspoke.
It will take days to double count dem votes.
And to add them in.
She should have clarified.
