if you're the only one using your keyboard and or you wash your hands with hygienic hand wash after using the toilet, you are perfectly safe;)

and ppl call me mad for replacing my keyboard twice a year. and i dont even eat over it.

ew... imagine boodles keyboard :/

Sorry, but I don't buy that. I know they are dirty but more dirty than a toilet seat? Not possible.

by all means, give them a wipe with a clean cloth and a shake to get the particles out.

But I think that article is going for the shock tactic.

I hate the brown grunge that accumulates on light creme keyboards. But a little bit of spray soap and a warm cloth and all is good.

I use a black Microsft keyboard now.

Try popping all the keys out of the keyboard and looking inside then... it's absolutely disgusting. (They pop right back in).

In a magazine a while ago I read that with an ordinary keyboard you can stick it upside down in the dishwasher for a good clean. Then towel it thoroughly and leave it to dry for a week to be on the safe side. No reason it shouldn't work, and they tried it out. Obviously it won't work if you have a fancy keyboard...

Dropped alot of coffee on it lol. Used water with a bit of salt in it :D
Logitech Wireless, was spill proof. Although I did open the whole keyboard to wash it :) lol

Handy tips on how to keep your keyboard clean:D:

1.Do NOT let anyone else use your kb.
2.Wash your hands before using your kb.
3.Dont eat on your kb.
4.Dont pick your nose during load-time in between levels.
5.when not using your kb,be sure to cover your kb with a nice little cloth.
6.If your hands get sweaty, take a break, have a smoke and wash again before
continuing play.
7.If tou dont have a modern vacuum cleaner,go to your nearest filling station
and use compressed air tyre filling thing-a-majig to blow out any dirt, ash & breadcrumbs.
8.Wipe your kb with a damp cloth+anti bacterial soap/sunlight AT LEAST once a month

I have a white MS keyboard which I recieved with my first pc in 1995 which still looks spotless...

Just open the sucker, remove the top section with all the keys (if logitech) and place in dishwasher. Later on just make sure the thing is dry (compressor or hairdryer will do). Reassemble and voila. Like brand new.

I've done this with success many times :)
