Good grief. That's a lot of solar panels required if you want to charge that at home. Eskom will cry...

Yeah But for R1mill i wouldnt even be looking at a KIA.

In fairness this is a new era for Kia and most of the world has said similar things with it moving up a few brackets.

However objective reviews has put it right past the Audi in its own bracket and everything under it.

It’s a phenomenal package of a car.

They do need to take the bullshit taxes away before I’ll be interested though, purely because it’s paying for hot air on an already expensive car.

This thing should be in the 800k range.

According to one of the Aussie reviews the car is sold out there until 2024. Not much hope that there will be reasonable levels of stock here.

Correct, even though there is major demand in Aussie-land Kia there is only able to provide 500 units for the entire year. The 1st units are only now just arriving there.

If you do the research you will see Aussie-land is arguably one of the more (relatively speaking) backwards EV nations, a fair bit of that is due to (EV) penetration & the sheer scope of the land.

I mean I agree, but I reckon if you look at what's out there for R800k these days - bottom of the range 3 series maybe? - the expected price of R1.2 million is not the worst (can't believe I'm saying that about a R1.2 million rand car).
But ja, I'm still not sure why we don't have far fewer taxes on these types of vehicles, even forgetting subsidies. Bring this in for R700k to R800k and I reckon you'd see the school parking lots fill up with them.
Man car prices are messed up! But that's the world we're living in.

Another million rand car that is presented as a good choice for people earning round R20 000 p.m. And they are in the top range of people with permanent jobs. And people with permanent jobs in SA is the minority.
Dear MBB, pls catch a wake up for the context wherein you place a article, sorry press release.
