time to fire up the Gen set and watch as it slowly eats up your savings in Diesel

Eskom said it currently has 1,018MW offline on planned maintenance, while another 17,022MW of capacity is unavailable due to breakdowns.

@ 1,000MW being shed per stage, that is effectively 18 stages of loadshedding (buffer) that is gone today....

SNAFU does not even come close. The above might have become the 'new normal', but I'd prefer it just being AFU, not really willing to accept the SN part

You don't really want more than a few GW over the demand, to much power can have consequences as well.
