First you assess the situation
Then you respond accordingly
You do not assume the worst and have your lethal option ready to go from the outset.

I did not know tasers are lethal. He's on top of a cop beating him to a pulp, they fire one shot an he doesn't stop and then they shoot him some more. Did you want all three cops dead first before they call swat to negotiate with him.

So 3 vs 1 against an unarmed person - only solution is 4 kill shots..... nah.
Unarmed people are dangerous and can kill as well.

Big unarmed guy beating up cops and breaking their bones deserves to be shot

A lot of people have no idea what cops must sometimes deal with.
Reading a lot of this, the unrealistic suggestions of what would have made it okay, I realize some people have no clue.

But then again, as I said somewhere yesterday:
The best players on sitting on the side of the field, that's why they moer the referee.

Nobody shoots to wound outside of the movies.
Earlier this year dutch cops shot a suspect in the leg. Seems like the training they undergo actually works. Who knew if you train people to aim for the legs they are more likely to be able to hit the legs? Truly astounding.

I mean really, how do EU countries get 80-90% of police shootings to be non fatal, whereas US police seems to only manage 45% at best. Guess EU cops are just bad shots or something. Maybe its that evil free healthcare that EU has

I am still concerned about the one oddity about how the incident is being reported by Hawaii media. Though Myeni's death may be unrelated to the controversies, all reports indicate that Myeni was shot at a Nuuanu home. That Nuuanu home is controversial, but no mention is made about it.

In Hawaii News Now's video report where they visited the property sure they knew where they were. It is not like this controversy is below the radar.

These people are like the Hawaiian Guptas or so to speak. However, I don't know whether it is still the same people living there, but the video and pictures I have seen... I would like to know what Myeni was doing there, and why the incident was reported as a robbery.

Yes, this is going beyond him being shot dead, but it happened on that property.

You guys busy establishing new police protocols and whatnot, there is much more to this story.

He is suspected of commiting a crime. They don't know if he was invited, if the woman is lying, if he actually commited a crime, if he has mental issues or 100 other things that could reasonably explain the situation. And just because someone is caught in the act so to speak does not warrant the drawing of guns.
Serious? Among the don't knows, you missed the part where they don't know if he has a gun or knife and plan to kill them, they also don't know if there maybe other suspects waiting to ambush them.

But hey, you want them to not draw their guns and potentially walk into a ambush and get killed for doing their job?

They probably owed him money for services rendered.
