Yes, he had intention not to adhere to police orders. He also had intention to attack and injure the police officers.

Also, what did he do on the property? Seems he had intention to commit a crime there.

His death was justified and they should close the case and send his family back to South Africa.
They Hawaiian.

I've e just seen the video footage released by the police, I doubt cops had much of a choice there... We could be reading a different story of cops shot with their own guns by a marauding Zulu man. Sounded like he was kind of possessed. Perhaps he was a good guy with no violent history or criminal record, all of that does not matter when you're going to charge at the police like a mad man, that being said, I'm saddened that his kids will grow up without a father. There's no reason to be happy that he died. I'm Zulu myself and I'm from KZN but I call for total exoneration of the cops involved, seems like they were also fighting for their lives.

Yes based on the now released body cam footage the race of the primary officer addressing him would seem to be Hawaiian / Pacific Islander as opposed to white.
At the time of the report there was no news on the races.

Let's be clear here, from what we can see a non violent situation was followed up by making a lethal threat and shouting orders. That is an escalation.
Police SHOULD shout orders. They should order an intruder on someone's property to get down. It's standard procedure to detain someone like an intruder whether they are violent or not. The Zulu prince didn't agree. He kept fighting even when tased and refused to get on the ground.

Police don't know if he is carrying a weapon or not. Plenty of vids out there of how quickly someone can whip out a gun or a knife.

They should tase someone who resists and they should shoot someone who attacks them.

Don't argue with eff minds. Its hawaii. Hawaii is in the US. All black people are murdered by white police in US. This is known. /end

Parents around the world, like ours did, should teach their children to respect authority, even more so police. Do what they say, not what you want. If you are taught these basic things, you are likely not to become a victim of violent force.

The guy attacked the police which is never a great idea.

Makes me wonder though how UK police seem to be able to arrest people without turning them into Swiss cheese. I'm sure they've dealt with aggressive/high rugby players before.

The British police don't need to worry that the criminal is carry a gun.

Sure about that?

Or...

Gun laws and restrictions only applies to law abiding citizens and not criminals. They never work in any country around the world.

Strawman...

Traditionally the UK police, police via consent. But that is quickly changing with more and more police being issued hand guns.

Also four in a hundred people own a fire arm...in the US there are more guns per capita than people. The US police are exposed to much more danger from firearms than in the UK.

Yes, they probably are.

I'm not keen to derail this thread by making it about gun control so will leave it there.

I haven't followed the latest news yet. But whatever was right or wrong, one does not argue with someone that holds a gun. That is a recipe for disaster. Will check back on the story in a couple of days. Too much emotions involved at the moment and too many versions. This world is screwed up. Line between right and wrong does not exist anymore. Cheers.
