He did not fie because the people phoned the Police.
He did not die because the Police responded to the call.

Things went sideways from there, and blame for the way it played out actually lies on both sides of the equation. The police officers and with Lindani both shoulder a portion of the blame for how it played out.

At the end of the day the reality of the situation is the whole thing went sideways and both the police and Lindani shoulder the blame for that.
