I didn't say it was. But anything other than the offer of a full refund isn't on.
I am sure airbnb protects hosts more than guests in such circumstances. As long as they arrange alternative accommodation. Must be one of Ts & Cs.

There is some proper cyclonic rotation visible on the radar image (note: doesn't make this a cyclone just a pretty damn strong low)

I'm no geographer, but indeed, it does have the rotation of a cyclone.

Although, I believe it doesn't have the "eye" that a real cyclone / typhoon usually have.

Eg, here's a 'real' typhoon headed for Japan and it's 'eye' seems different to the one in KZN.

My fam has been without power since 8am yesterday & currently don't have water.

Apparently many people in Durban won't have water today because the infrastructure has been affected.

Btw Etekweni has run out of money to steal. So a lot of the electrical & water related issues prior to this was due to negligence & corruption.

Etekweni can't pay people to cut the grass in some areas because rate payers money has been chowed by the ANC

A State of Disaster is likely to be declared, and is appropriate for this kind of event.

More money to steal. /s

Somewhat of a geographer. Just went through windy to double check, strong costal low and pulled in a ton of weather from the south. If you skip forward to Friday, you can see our usual build ups far south. This was probably our usual fluke once off flood we get every year or two, was one was in 2019?

Either way, looks like it will clear up by early tomorrow morning properly.

But by the look of things, the damage extent of this 'fluke flood' is perhaps rather more comparable to that of Domoina I think, vs the one in 2019...

Haven't had a storm like this after living here for 20 years.

I think there was one around 99/00 that was somewhat comparable. However yes this is about 50% more than 2019.
