Labour Department to take hard line on Siemens deal

The labour department will not renew its 10-year IT contract with Siemens and plans to seek redress for failures by the electronics giant in the 22 months before it runs out.

I just had a vision of the future.... I see the labour department paying 4 times more to a BEE IT provider who performs even worse. 1.2 billion to 1.9 billion after 10 years? That is an average annual increase of 5.8% and they deem it worth mentioning as a reason to terminate? Expect annual increases in the order of 50% after 2012 DOL.

Actually 1.2Billion to 1.9Billion after just 10 years that's not bad going.

700Million ZAR sounds a bit hard to swallow BUT let's consider what happened in (for example) the entire NATIS abortion?

Umm I think that's 800 Million down and STILL not working. 120% over-budget?

Let's see CoJ (City Of Joburg) IT re-vamp? Phakama or something?
Is it over-budget? It's SAP of course it is!
Is it working? Umm... NO!

There are others but I'm already beginning to have a bit of a rage-storm so I'll stop here.
