Labour unions accept Eskom's 7% wage increase

South African labour groups agreed to a wage offer from the state-owned power utility, ending an impasse over increases that triggered a week of illegal protests and deepened electricity outages.

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd., which generates almost all of the nation’s electricity, was scheduled to meet with the unions on Tuesday over the pay deal.

I wonder if they got their "sweetener". Because nothing says thanks for the terrorism like a cash bonus.

Then I think it only fair that the Eskom paying consumer also receives a R15k sweetner for all the annoyance and problems these half witted useless twats cause...

the power utility last week agreed to unions' demands on the reinstatement of some conditions of employment in addition to the 7% salary increase offer it tabled and a R400 top-up to the housing allowance.

Anybody know what was re-instated here?

That 7% increase is probably soon to be a fair less in spending power, after every retailer and their supply chain hikes their prices due to increased operational overhead costs to deal with paying for standby power for the stage 6 load shedding. Might not feel it now, but will be here soon.
