Surely no-one is putting business logic into the js layer?

OMG, hopefully not. The js layer is there for display logic and some data validation. Business loginc should be safely hidden far away in the back end.

See what a nice thread this has turned out to be.

Exactly! Interesting discussions galore:
- Javascript security / business logic concerns
- Fat vs. thin clients
- Necuno getting married...

lets hope his marridge last longer than the discussions!

The framework we are looking at uses ACEGI, or now called Spring Security to manage it Authorisation, Authentication and SSO

Anyone busy with Ruby on Rails at the moment? I'm starting my first project in a month or so and I'm currently busy messing around with it to get up to speed. Looks like fun and I can use my second-favourite editor to develop - Netbeans.

Right... text editors. Makes for more interesting conversation than "which payment gateway should I use for my new online shop"? :D

We-el, do you want your CSP to be VbyB and SecureCode, what technologies do you want and do you have any preference of which bank should be the backbone for your gateway? :D:D

You know that's not what I mean... ;) I'm rather talking about the "is there a South African alternative to PayPal" requests.

Kick ass Notepad++ plugins
  • Compare - Diff tool
  • HTML Tag - Duh?
  • LightExplorer - Adds an explorer to the left pane

Anything I'm missing out on?

Whatever you do just stay the hell away from Nomad - I haven't used other gateways but I'm fairly sure they can't be worse than Nomad. :)

Regarding where I has been - my boss is a bit of a **** and revoked my internet access. Been working like a dog since though. :D

Regarding text editors - Try Programmer's Notepad. Very sleek.

That's what I'm stuck doing. I inherited a project built by a copy-and-paste specialist. Now I have to add to it <shudder> - there isn't enough time to make it right (although I'm trying as I go along).
