Lack of load-shedding not helping economy yet

It remains to be seen whether Eskom's unexpected elimination of load-shedding over the past 10 months has had a significant impact on South Africa's economic growth.

Sunday newspaper Rapport spoke to several economists about why the country's economic indicators have not shown any major positive turnaround as a result of increased electricity availability.

It has.. But it doesn't overcome the ANCs incompetence at running a country or anything larger than a paper packet.

Well lets consider that according to Google AI and other sources pick your poison that 2416 companies have closed their doors. Some of them small others large and if they are not using electricity anymore it means everyone else gets to use that electricity.

So it is not the end of load shedding, no one is using the generated power. That is why they want to shaft us with higher prices because there are no large companies picking up the bill anymore. That is why Eskom wants to shaft solar users as well. Think about it Eskom forcing us to use what they want us to use so that they can get paid what they want us to pay.

Ironically our failing economy got rid of load shedding. The power stations are still falling apart, corruption is still being reported.

That's the thing the demand drop had little to do with solar uptake, it was the almost 3000 businesses that closed, plus the refineries, smelters and stuff that also closed

Exactly right and is why I am so angry at the DA to refuse to bring in solar legislation that will permanently protect us against Eskom stupidity. Without it we will never be rid of Eskom and its on going stupidity.

The COCT ridiculous rules that only allow for their approved inverters and their approved meters.
A standby system with a COC should be all you need.

The fact that systems must go through an extended registration process, for false reasons, only in CPT is what annoyed me. The registration is there to red tape the process, and then eventually solar system owners will have to pay more for an exiting tax and/or a new tax. DA is now busy helping the ANC Eskom to roll out their red tape everywhere. The commies are already taxing the usage of sunlight, these taxes going up with hyperinflation.

Not ridiculous, the "approved" list is sensible as too many fly-by bights installing off-grid inverters for on-grid use. Using a non-approved inverter would have saved me R10K on a R160K installation.

Nothing is stopping you from using a warm standby unit using components not on the list, you just can't feed your DB board. No different to my Eco-Flow.

Most of those companies still have to factor Eskom in over the next few years, still have to pay to keep those generators available or battery banks, etc., way too short for businesses not to worry about it.

Solar uptake definitely has an impact, besides the fact that those larger users are also adding renewable to their own mixes.

Example
https://ummbilaemoyeni.com/ should be 150MW this year, 900MW by 2027.

Just for you the 4bar+ clerks are coming up with taxes on air as well... you will need to pay a breathing levy soon.

Ah you're still looking at the "total" MW not the actual power generated, one day you'll understand how renewables work. One day

Just flushed property rights down the shitter, and along with it any hopes of economic recovery.
