Does the supercar name not seem to fall away when you can buy a Tesla that performs at supercar speed for a fraction of the price? Maybe I am missing something.

Which modern supercar is outperformed by what Tesla? And then, does the Tesla corner as well as a supercar?

  • 0-to-60 mph in 1.9 seconds
  • 0-to-100 mph in 4.2 seconds
  • Quarter mile in 8.9 seconds
  • 250+ mph top speed
  • 620 miles of range per charge
  • 7,376 pound-feet of torque
  • Three motors, 200-kWh battery

I guess the question is does price make a supercar a supercar as I am sure most EV's can be kitted out to do this. But does the market maintain a price because they want it to remain as a supercar brand with a price attached to it to get that performance. If you get what I am asking,

Oh. You're talking about a car still in prototype phase, which will cost $200+k for the base model? So an EV supercar at supercar money performing in line with supercars?

Lol.

Real world results is actually what counts.

Unlike the Germans who often undervalues their times.

Accelerations is only a very small part of the supercar equation.

It's about it's ability to also handle well and at extreme velocity which is something EV's by their nature of being fat and heavy aren't very good at.

There's a reason that Roaster hasn't materialised yet...they've had a very hard time making supercar beating EV's.

And no price does not a supercar make. A super car makes it price through being made of space age materials and very low volumes.
