Lancia says it is eyeing the South African market for a relaunch

Mr Bean is selling his gorgeous Lancia Delta Integrale Evo II

The cost-of-living crisis gets to the best of us as Rowan Atkinson puts this prized Lancia up for auction

Actor and car enthusiast Rowan Atkinson has put his Lancia Delta Integrale Evo II up for auction. Worth up to an estimated £75,000 in the currently buoyant market for classic cars, this fine 80s family runaround has clocked less than 90,000 km (51,000 miles).

The Lancia Delta Integrale has a colourful history in rallying circles. The five-door hatchback rose to fame in its domination of the World Rally Championships in the late 1980s. This particular example is a Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione II. Such Evo models would prove the final homologation cars for the Martini-sponsored racing team.

Atkinson’s reasonably deep pockets have kept this treasure in extremely good nick - safe to say, it drives. First registered in June 1993, this Evo II sports a 2.0-litre, 16-value turbo engine, producing a spritely 215bhp. Imported from Japan in 2011, the Lord Blue finish is a rare colour choice with a typically Japanese-inspired nametag.

The Lancia Ypsilon's New Green Is a Good Green

Lancia calls it 'Green Dew,' which is a boring name for a fantastic color.

Lancia, which is in the middle of transforming itself into something else(probably just another luxury marque), is an automaker with real history that still does sell cars. Or at least one car, in a handful of European countries: the Ypsilon, which is a supermini, which is the car I would buy if I lived in Italy. I would ask them to paint it in this new green.

The green, called Green Dew, is good because it is green, but also because it is subtle: the opposite of British racing green, which is for people who want to pretend to be Jackie Stewart. The green is a part of some updates for this year’s Ypsilon, which is, I think, in its third generation but who can really say, as the Ypsilon is timeless. Lancia says the style updates are going to make the car more youthful or something.

Lancia Ypsilon

The new Ypsilon Range offers some standard technological features which simplify daily life, improving significantly the driving pleasure and on-board comfort, and make the vehicle even more contemporary and up-to-date. The connectivity of this fashion city car improved with a 7" touchscreen radio which now comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in wireless mode. Moreover, it is equipped with the new wireless charger located under the gearshift which allows to safely and conveniently recharge a smartphone. And making its debut on the model, there is a rear camera which facilitates parking and provides a truly stress-free driving experience.

More efficient

The new Lancia Ypsilon Range is equipped exclusively with the Mild Hybrid engine which pairs a 1.0, 3-cylinder, 70 HP (51 kW) petrol engine from the Firefly family with a 12-volt BSG electric engine and a lithium battery. Efficient, compact, and accessible, the new Ypsilon benefits from all the advantages of a hybrid vehicle, including free access and circulation in restricted traffic areas, reduced parking costs in city centers, and tax breaks (depending on local laws).

The new LPG Ecochic version is the ideal vehicle for those who travel long distances, but do not want to give up on the elegance of a Lancia vehicle. The LPG engine allows to save up to 45% on fuel, compared with a similar petrol engine, totalling to almost €700 a year, based on an average travel distance of 15,000 km. In addition to its improved fuel economy, it comes with the same standard technological features mentioned above.

I thought Lancias were essentially the same thing as Opel and Vauxhall

Lancia readies reinvention as EV brand with nods to past icons

Stellantis-owned firm will draw inspiration from Delta and Stratos; hybrid and EV cars to sit on STLA platform

Lancia is getting ready to reinvent itself as a style-focused EV brand with designs heavily influenced by icons of its past, including the Aurelia, Delta, Stratos and 037 Stradale – to be previewed by a concept car in the coming weeks.

The storied Italian brand has been a one-car operation since 2015, when it stopped selling rebadged Chrysler models, and although the Fiat 500-based Ypsilon supermini remains popular and was recently refreshed, it’s now in its 12th year of production.

Charged with relaunching the brand and returning it to markets outside its native Italy, CEO Luca Napolitano has pledged to rekindle the ‘dolce vita’ spirit that was central to the appeal of many historic Lancia models, beginning in the 1960s with the Flaminia and Flavia.

Lancia Pu+Ra concept will be unveiled on April 15

Lancia is a brand that's getting ready for its all-electric revival, and as such, back in November of last year, it unveiled the Pu+Ra "design concept". Not a car concept, mind you, a design concept. The car concept is finally coming... next month.

Lancia CEO Luca Napolitano has revealed the fact that, on April 15, the brand will hold an event dubbed "Emozione Pu+Ra", during which the "Lancia Concept" will be unveiled, alongside the brand's manifesto for the next ten years.

"Emozione" is Italian for "emotion", by the way, while Pu+Ra stands for "pure and radical", according to Lancia. The teaser image you can see above was outed by the brand together with the announcement of the upcoming event.

It gives us a pretty decent look at two thirds of the concept's rear, and it does look interesting indeed. The oval shaped LED taillights are intriguing for sure, as is the the new Lancia logo. Stick around and we'll show you the entire thing in about a month.
