Noticed something interesting tonight - the latency on my iBurst connection is significantly better than usual. Getting steady <150ms local and <300ms international. Only had the connection for a few weeks, but latency has never been anywhere near stable when I've checked in the past. Typical is <300ms local and 400-600ms international, but never steady. Good enough for web and downloads, but sucks a bit for remote control over VPN. I use the freeware version of Ping Plotter for testing, because it rocks.

I'm in Cape Town, near the CBD, UTD connected to Smoothwall - is it only me? Will it last? Here's hoping - might finally be able to test my VoIP headset :rolleyes:

This is the sorta normal latency I get.....

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 62ms, Maximum = 175ms, Average = 89ms

Ping statistics for 64.233.187.99:
Packets: Sent = 14, Received = 14, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

I'm in joburg though, so I don't know what difference that makes.
