I got Iburst (can’t get adsl/isdn in my area) mainly use it to play Worlds of Warcraft.
In the 1st 2 weeks of the month pings were great – 500 to 1000ms. I have vpn account when Iburst international gets slow.
Since Sunday my ping has been horrible – 3000 to 5000, does not matter if I use vpn or iburst’s international bandwidth. But D/l’s and sites still come down fast.
So I did a test this morning woke up at 5:30 logged into wow and played and got 500 to 800 ping, stable switched to Quake 3 stable ping of 70 no packet loss which I get at night.
So my theory is that most guys are capped, and are leeching slowly at 64kb for the rest of month, eating up timeslots on the tower, resulting in the higher unstable ping.
Or Iburst is shaping the vpn and wow protocols.
I am not capped still 300 megs left.
What are your guy’s views on this?
