The latest Volkswagen Golf has received five stars in the EuroNCAP evaluation: the European crash test programme awarded the new Golf the highest score of five stars, even according to the stricter and more comprehensive assessment criteria. Furthermore, the Golf received the highest overall rating of any vehicle. In the latest rating of the EuroNCAP all safety and assistant systems of the individual vehicles are now being assessed.:D

Uh... the Euro NCAP doesn't mean anything anymore. They rate from 1-5 stars.... the Kia Picanto (a 1mx1mx1m matchbox) got a 5 star rating.
So this really doesn't say anything.

The only Kia Rio on their website, has an 4 Star

Another thing you need to bare in mind

Euro NCAP’s frontal impact test simulates a car crashing into another of similar mass and structure. In real life, when two cars collide the vehicle with the higher mass has an advantage over the lighter one. Generally speaking, vehicles with higher structures tend to fare better in accidents than those with lower structures. Therefore, ratings are comparable only between cars of similar mass and with broadly similar structures. Euro NCAP groups cars into the following structural categories: passenger car, MPV, off-roader, roadster and pickup. Within each of those categories, cars which are within 150kg of one another are considered comparable.

Different categories get a percentage rating:

The Golf received a rating of 97% in the Adult Occupant Protection category.

Not bad at all.

Too bad EuroNCAP don't measure the chances of another driver falling asleep and causing an accident while admiring this incredibly dull and unimaginative vehicle on the road.

I'm not anti-VAG, just anti **** engines and high prices for what should be a car for average people.

Its not a basic 1.4:rolleyes:
Its 118kw
0 - 100 in 8.0 seconds
Has tons of standard equipment
Its a big hatchback

I dont mind the Scirocco price, the MK6 price is a bit steep.

So basically you pay a steep price to get a 1.4 that's been turbo to hell and gone so that it makes 118kW when you can buy a 2L that makes that power and runs far more reliable.

Sounds good
