Post Office directors could face criminal charges

The South African Post Office has failed to pay over workers’ pension fund, medical aid, and tax contributions despite deducting them from their salaries — which is a criminal offence in South Africa.

This is according to Koos Benadie, director at Pretoria-based law firm Barnard Inc.

"the national mail carrier" lulz
They have not been a "mail carrier", nationally or otherwise in a decade

The despicable practice of a lot of South African employers who insist that employees have to join their group medical schemes and pension funds needs to be outlawed.

Sad thing with many stories like this is that there's always someone who's in need of urgent medical care who's just found out that they don't have cover

Let's blame Jan van Riebeeck.
He didn't pay the medical aid.

This is South Africa where this is rewarded. Even if they did, nothing would ever come of it. At worst they'll get a nice paid vacation and golden handshake when they go.
