Human Rights Commission calls Faith Mazibuko to explain 'combi court' rant

The South African Human Rights Commission has called Gauteng MEC for sport, arts, culture and recreation Faith Mazibuko to appear before it on Tuesday to clarify comments she made in a "rant" that was leaked to the public in an audio recording.

The commission said it became aware, through various social media platforms, of the widely circulated recording of a meeting held by Mazibuko in which she lambasted senior managers for failing to deliver sports facilities known as "combi courts", purportedly to bolster support for the ANC ahead of the elections on May 8.
"I empower you, you are not empowerable. Which other department has an Indian that is a CFO? Which department has an HOD that is a mlungu (white person)? Ayikho (there is none), including national," Mazibuko was heard saying.

The commission said upon assessment of the statements, it was of the view that her comments implicated a number of rights listed in the bill of rights."Following this, the commission initiated an own accord investigation and consolidated all complaints received from members of the public into one, and proceeded to assess this matter."

SAHRC slaps Mazibuko with one-day punishment for 'combi court' outburst

.The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) has slapped Gauteng MEC for Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Faith Mazibuko with a one-day punishment for her utterances towards her subordinates, which went viral.

Mazibuko has been ordered to attend a one-day sensitivity and diversion programme.

City of Johannesburg mayor Herman Mashaba is likely to get a similar punishment, following his comments that have been perceived to be xenophobic.

In December 2016, the DA mayor said illegal immigrants in the country were criminals.

One-day sensitivity and diversion programme.

"We have accepted her unconditional apology. We are happy she will attend our sensitivity and diversion programme. She has promised to comply with our programme. We have received complaints about her comments. We too felt that her comments could be perceived as racist and divisive. We are looking at a programme [which is] suitable for her and will look at how to implement it," said Jana.

Wait, what, they don't even have a program? Special case to make a special ruling.

Bwahahaha ha... Explain to us again sahrc how you aren't biased as fsck and racist to boot as well?

It is strange how they rule that she must attend their one-day sensitivity and diversion programme, but that that they are looking at a program which is suitable to her and that they will have to look at how to implement it. How do make a ruling when there is no existing punishment?

This is a one-day punishment, the question is when?

My ‘combi-court’ rant wasn’t racist, Mazibuko tells SAHRC

Jana said the parties all agreed Mazibuko’s remarks “could be interpreted as racist”, but were more divisive than racist.

Asked if Mazibuko might have been treated leniently, she said the commission was purposefully lenient to black offenders in racial incidents “because of the historical context”. She also said that racism from whites towards other races was more pervasive.

The Gauteng ANC’s integrity commission is to inform Mazibuko soon if the party would take any action against her regarding the matter.

So bad Faith can now add "prototyping one day sensitivity program" to her CV. In other words: how to be a racist more subtly.

Asked if Mazibuko might have been treated leniently, she said the commission was purposefully lenient to black offenders in racial incidents “because of the historical context”. She also said that racism from whites towards other races was more pervasive.

So creating a speshul class by artificially lowering the accepted bar. This is divisive.

Now that the SAHRC created this special historical context ruling which is absurd. Thanks to Ashwin BTW, they used him to set this in motion, and by this they are marginalising white people. Double standards and pure hypocrisy.

Saying all this, isn't the Indian person black, Mazibuko?
not black enough?

AA, BEE, BBBEE ...
Soon you'll have to undergo a reflective test by a HMRC certified practitioner before submitting your complaint.

"more divisive than racist"

commit that one to memory boys, whenever anyone EVER dares call me racist I will correct them and say I am being divisive
Note that the SAHRC didn't rule on any racism, but did agree that her statement may be perceived as racist.

There we have confirmation of bias again.
