Learning Java?

Hey guys,

I was thinking - I want to learn how to code in Java - reason being that I would like to develope applications for blackberry phones. Whats the easiest way to begin?

I can code in C++ and Visual Studio.Net, but thats about it.

Anything I should know to learn Java on my own? Any tips for online resources or books etc or programs?

Java is a very good choice. Phones use J2ME, so make sure you check that out as well.

Is Java native to the Blackberry? Nokia uses Symbian for their smartphones and Java runs on most of them as well.

But if you're reeeally serious about learning java , you should buy some book like "The Java programming language" [written by James Goslings himself ; the co-creator of java] or get some good O'reilly book about java .
And btw if u can code in C++ it's gonna be very easy for u to learn java .
