Lenovo Ideapad 100s - can hard drive be upgraded?

I have a Lenovo Ideapad 100s laptop with eMMC 32gb storage

I'm wanting to increase the storage to possibly 240gb ssd M2

Before I spend any money, can this be done (i.e. install 240gb ssd m2)?

Please let me know

Unfortunately, that model has storage(& ram) soldered onto the main board, with no M.2 or SATA ports for upgrades.

While you can't change the existing storage you can augment it - jack a decent size (64 is specified by Lenovo but I've seen, on a Lenovo forum support thread that 128 works), qualitay SD card (id est don't cheap out here, you're already on a hiding to nothing as it is) in there, and then get Windows to recognise it as your main storage, which is a ...bit of an adventure but works, I did it for a client's Lenovo MIIX 320 device, which has fundamentally the same problem as you do here.

Mine was done today by Highveld Computers in Centurion. So if you open the back cover you will find a slot that will fit a M.2 solid state drive.
Crucial
MX500 500GB M.2 Solid State Drive is that one that was installed for me.
